The Captains Got A Winning Ticket

Yesterday Megan was offered two tickets to tonite’s Cardinals game. And not just any two tickets, mind you. Two Luxury Suite tickets in the Schnucks family box.

The

And not just any game, mind you. The first and only home start for Chris Carpenter in the 2012 season. And a chance for the Cardinals to clinch a wild card spot with a win. Meg is the best!

I was just at Busch Stadium on Sunday with D and the rest of the Spiro’s crew, but it was a drink-from-a-flask-in-the-cheap-seats affair.

Tonite’s game was all about living it up. We had free VIP parking and the best Luxury Suite in the house, field level and right behind home plate. Check out this view!

While that view was nice, here’s the truly impressive view

A fully stocked fridge of free beer! The Captain could definitely get used to this VIP treatment.
The crowd was full of energy for a win, but the Cardinals bats didn’t cooperate. My man Chris Carpenter looked pretty good considering he’s still scraping rust off of his pitches. Going six innings and giving up three runs was a solid performance, but unfortunately the hitters never managed a rally. I was hoping to celebrate the Cardinals earning a trip to the Wild Card game on Friday, but with seats like mine I wasn’t really complaining.
As it turns out the Dodgers lost their game that nite so the Cardinals wound up clinching the second Wild Card spot on Tuesday anyways, just not how I was hoping. But like I told Megan on Monday, I don’t care how we got the tickets as long as we’re going!

Ciao,
The Captain
